‘7am Arivu’ Shoot on Ranganathan Street

The always-crowded Ranganathan Street at T Nagar became more crowded recently, when Suriya and director A R Murugadoss were there to shoot a song for their forthcoming venture ‘7am Arivu’. “Since filming a song on Ranganathan Street is no easy task, we rehearshed the sequence many a time at AVM Studios for three days. Thanks to all, we managed to achieve what we conceived, on the busy street,” says Murugadoss. It is said that the entire shot was completed in just 10 minutes and the unit immediately left the spot, as crowd started to swell to have a glimpse of Suriya. “Special permission was obtained earlier,” sources say. Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin on Red Giant Movies banner, ‘7am Arivu’, being made on a high budget, has Shruthi Haasan opposite Suriya. Music is by Harris Jayaraj. “All is well so far. The shoot is expected to get over soon,” add sources.

Phrases like ‘eagerly waited’ and ‘much anticipated’ are fast becoming clichés when talking about a Suriya film these days. So simply put, the shooting of Suriya’s ‘7am Arivu’ will complete by mid March and the audio of the film will be launched on March 28. In the film Suriya plays Anwar Basha, a trapeze artiste who also doubles up as an animal trainer. Shruthi Kamal plays Shalini, his love interest. Suriya was trained for his acrobatic acts by a renowned circus company in Coimbatore and as always the creative actor learnt the art well. According to sources the audio launch will be a spectacular feat with Suriya performing some dare devilry acrobatics live on stage. The mega music launch will happen at the Nehru Indoor Stadium on March 28. Suriya will perform acts like trapeze, 10 balls juggle, human pyramid etc. He will do some 10 amazing feats along with trained circus artistes who will be specially flown in for the event. Suriya-Karthi’s role in state election 2011 short film

The Sivakumar brothers, Suriya and Karthi, have made their contribution to the election fever that is gripping the state. They will appear in a short film for the Election Commission that spreads awareness about the importance of the individual vote. Many people from all sections of society refrain from exercising their constitutional right and this is exploited by corrupt politicians. The film conveys the message that every vote counts and as a citizen of this proud nation, we should do our democratic duty by being a part of the elections. Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Jeyam Ravi, Rohini, and former President Abdul Kalam are some of the others who appear in this short film.
