The Nadigar Sangam President Sarath Kumar said that Suriya has been confirmed as the Icon Star of the Kollywood cricket team that is to take part in the Celebrity Cricket League T20. He added that Vijay and Vikram have also been approached to be the Icon Stars but both have not confirmed their participation till now. Other stars who have been selected to play for Kollywood include Karthi, Abbas, Madhavan, Jayam Ravi, Arya, Shaam. The matches between the four film industries will be held in the last week of January 2011 in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Suriya is eagerly expecting the release of Raththa Charithram, a Ram Gopal Varma-directed film, on December 3rd. This is the first trilingual from the star and he has said that it was unique experience to work in three languages simultaneously. On his next film 7aam Arivu, Suriya says that he is well-aware that all eyes are on this project as it is directed by AR Murugadoss, the director with whom he had given a smash hit, Ghajini. The audio launch of Raktha Charithra-2 will take place in Hyderabad on November 15th. Suriya, the lead star in this film, is expected to fly down to take part in this event. Raktha Charithra-2 (Telugu) and Raththa Charithram (Tamil) will hit the marquee on November 26th, 2010 while the Hindi version will be released on December 3rd, 2010. The first part of Raktha Charithra (Telugu and Hindi) turned out to be hit and with Suriya dominating in part 2, it has created a lot of expectations among the Tamil audiences. This stalwart of Tamil cinema has many passions and other than his family, Tamil literature is at the top of the list. “I just happened to start reading Kambar Ramayanam by chance when I was invited as a guest speaker in 2007 for Madurai Kambar Kazhagam. I prepared a short speech and it sparked from there,” reminisces Palanisamy Rakkia Gounder, better known to the world as actor Sivakumar. When asked about the proudest and happiest moment in recent times, he says, “It was in 2008, in the month of May. Deepika Padukone has recently revealed her desire to star in a Tamil film. And the actress says that her first preference is no less than the Superstar Rajnikanth. She has said that the two other Tamil actors that have impressed her are Suriya and Vikram and would like to share the screen space with them too in the future. Deepika, who is a busy star in Bollywood, has done an item number in a Telugu film recently. So, it is just a matter of time to make her appearance in a Tamil flick.

Actress Shruti Haasan was injured on her elbow while shooting for 7 Aam Arivu directed by A R Murugadoss in Chennai. On Sunday afternoon (August 29, 2010), the 7Aam Arivu crew was shooting a few ‘dangerous stunt sequences’ which involved Surya and Shruti in the outer-area of Chennai. During the shooting Shruti had suffered injury on her elbow and is very thankful to Surya for helping her out,And she was immediately rushed to the hospital. On doctor’s advice Shruti has been on rest. “Hectic shoot today!!suffered my first share of stunt injuries for 7Am Arivu today, nothing serious!but def. annoying ..*ouch*,” Shruti tweeted.
